The Time I Overcomplicated Everything

I’ll never forget my first attempt at writing a sales page.

It had everything: fancy words, a ton of bullet points, waaay too many messaging angles, or “concepts” and even a sentence with the word “synergistic.” (What does that even mean?!)

I spent days on it. I was SO proud. And you know what? No one clicked. Not one person.

That’s when I learned the golden rule: clarity beats cleverness every time.

Since then, I’ve learned to keep it simple. There is a time or place for cleverness. But at the end of the day, people just want to know how you can help them.

What’s one time you overcomplicated something? Bet it makes a great story.
